Wow, what a fantastic 9 weeks that I’ve just had at Thomas Lloyd Barbering Academy. I’m so happy that I made the decision to pick up the phone and secure my spot onto the 9 week NVQ2 course.
I’ve always had an interest in hair, but never got around to pursuing it as life gets in the way.
I’ve been a Primary school teacher for 10+ years, I’ve worked in pubs, Aldi store assistant, Community nursery nurse etc, but I wasn’t happy with my choices of career.
My passion is socialising and I love to make people feel good about themselves, so I thought to myself, “why not make them look good too”. Long story short, I found myself looking online for barbering courses and stumbled upon Thomas Lloyd Barbering Academy and I’m so happy that I did.
I was immediately impressed at the speed in which I could complete the course (9 weeks) and that sounded much better than having to attend night college once a week for a whole year. I also saw that Lloyd offered small class sizes which meant that we could have one to one training and that we would be learning our new skills in a live barbershop. The look and feel of the shop is awesome… You should pop in and have a look.
Lloyd also supplies the live models for us to practice on, so we didn’t have to worry about having to look for people to cut. All of the clients were patient and friendly and didn’t mind sitting in the chair for a little bit longer than they normally would.
Lloyd is an outstanding tutor. He’s friendly, approachable, patient and has a wealth of knowledge that he’s more than happy to share with you. He also helped me find my 1st ever job after the completing the course, which is awesome, woohoooo. For me, the course was something that blew my mind (in a good way) and I can’t stop recommending it to my friends and random people I meet ha ha.
So, something to think about. You’re never too old to change career, learn a new skill and chase your dreams. I 100% recommend that you give Lloyd a call and book onto one of his courses. I’m certain that you wouldn’t be sorry.
