  I booked a private, 1-1 3 day course with the Thomas Lloyd Barbering Academy and it was absolutely brilliant! I rang and spoke to Lloyd as I needed to be able to cut men’s hair within my job as a makeup artist in TV. Lloyd was extremely … More accommodating and having done work within the TV and film industry himself was understanding of what I needed and wanted to achieve. Due to my work schedule I could only do a couple of days, Lloyd was able to book me in quickly and for a very good price. I couldn’t believe what I achieved in 3 days. From my first day, not knowing how to hold the clippers, to doing fades and cutting a gent’s hair practically by myself (with supervision of course) by the last day. All my training was done on live models, not training heads, which I was very grateful for as it makes a big difference. Chris taught me during my 3 days and was a brilliant teacher, easing me at the beginning and giving me bigger challenges when he thought I was capable. Both Chris and Lloyd are great guys and I will 100% be back again.

  By using this service you not only get a free haircut, but you also help people train, get more skills and be more confident to become professional barbers.
  James who did my haircut (3 weeks ago) worked in finances before and decided to try something different and train himself to become a braber. (what a great way to get some hands-on experience). He did a great job and it did not feel like he was a student.
  Students train on fake hair before they are allowed to work on real people.
  I will be returning if I get some time off work.
  It is definetely better than do it yourself at home with clippers.

  Because this is a Barbering Academy full disclosure don't expect your hair to finished in 15-20 minutes, the students will take their time making sure they do everything right, which on average from previous appointments have been roughly 90 minutes. So I would advise booking when you don't have anything on or just fancy a relaxing haircut.
  As a side note: If you are unable to make your appointment, please notify them that you are unable to attend. Even though it is a free haircut, Lloyd and Christian do their best to provide a great service to their customers and want to help their students succeed.

I showed him a photo of the sort of thing I wanted and my haircut actually now looks better than the photo I originally showed him!
  My hair was finished to a really high standard with lots of care and attention taken. There was the perfect balance between letting him get on with it but also the course leaders being readily on hand to advise/assist if needed.
