*6/5 stars – Thomas Lloyd Barbershop | Blonde Student Barber*
Just left Thomas Lloyd and had to leave a review for the male blonde student barber who cut my hair and trimmed my beard. Seriously impressed.
*The cut:*
He took the time to actually ask what I wanted instead of just going in with the clippers. We talked through the length on top, the fade on the sides, and how I usually style it. The fade is clean, sharp, and blends perfectly – no harsh lines, no patchy spots. On top he left just enough length to give it some texture, and the styling at the end made it look like I’d put effort in, even though I didn’t.
*The beard trim:*
My beard was getting messy and uneven. He lined it up cleanly, evened out the cheeks and neckline, and tapered it so it looks intentional, not just trimmed. Used a straight razor for the edges and it’s the closest, cleanest line I’ve had in months. No nicks, no irritation.
*The experience:*
What stood out most was the attention to detail and the attitude. He was focused, asked for feedback mid-cut, and double-checked everything in the mirror before finishing. You can tell he cares about getting it right, even as a student. The shop itself was clean, relaxed vibe, good chat without it feeling forced.
For a student barber, the skill level is already way above what I expected. If this is his work now, he’s going to be class once he’s fully qualified.
Highly recommend asking for him if you want a precise cut and a solid beard trim without the rushed, conveyor-belt feel. I’ll be back and asking for him specifically.
