Will I be job ready once completing the NVQ course?

Yes, you will be job ready when you have obtained your NVQ qualification. The NVQ is a recognised qualification to gain employment in the barbering industry.

Can you help with housing?

We recommend students use Spare Room. Due to the short duration of the course, this site gives greater flexibility with your accommodation requirements.

Does the Academy have onsite parking?

No, the Academy doesn’t have onsite parking, however you can park in the surrounding streets for free. However, please note there are some areas controlled by permit parking.

Do you supply barbering kit?

We don’t supply barbering kit in the price of the course, but you can purchase a kit at an additional cost. We recommend the kit is purchased to ensure  you have the correct equipment to begin the course. We can obtain a discount on the equipment from the warehouse and pass any savings onto our students.

How close is the academy to Cardiff city centre?

The academy is a 15 minute walk to city centre.

Nearest train station to academy?

The nearest train station is Cathays and is within a walking distance of 8 minutes from the academy.

Is the academy within easy reach of Cardiff International Airport?

Yes, you can reach the academy within 30 minutes by car or taxi. You can also get a train from Cardiff international airport to Cathays train station which takes around 40 minutes.

How far is Cardiff central station from the academy?

It’s a 25 minute walk from central station, 12 minutes by car and 13 minutes by train.

Do you accept international students?

Yes we accept international students.

Are you open bank holidays?

We are closed on bank holiday Mondays, but will be open on Good Friday.

English is not my first language, can I still train at the academy?

Yes you are still able to train at the academy, however for the NVQ qualification a good understanding of English is essential.
